Hello My Name Is...
Brenda Hickey
My name is Coach Brenda Hickey, and I was born in (Perry Ga.) and raised in Warner Robins, Kathleen, and Bonaire, Georgia. I now live in Macon, Georgia. I am a product of all the Houston county schools. During my middle and High school tenure, I participated in basketball and track. After I graduated from high school, I continued my higher education and basketball career at Pensacola Jr. College and later at Northeast La. University (Known as the University of Louisiana Monroe) on full basketball scholarships. I received my bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from the University. Upon graduation, I returned home and worked at several jobs, got married, and gave birth to a beautiful daughter, name Danielle. I am also a grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter, named, Saniya. Later, in 2012, I graduated from Grand Canyon University with and master’s degree in Education in Health and Physical Education. I decided in 2019- 2020 to go back to college to receive an Educational Specialist in Coaching Pedagogy and Physical Education from Valdosta State University.
I am currently teaching and coaching for Bibb County Public school system in Macon, Georgia since 2002. I teach physical education at Skyview Elementary in Lizella, Georgia for the past twenty years. I coach basketball and track at Rutland High school in Macon, Georgia, for fourteen years. I also coached the same sports for six years at Westside High School in Macon, Georgia. My future goals are to become college professor and coach, lead a congregation, missionary work overseas, and own a sporting good store business. I am looking forward to meeting all of you this school term and hope that you can embrace all the changes and the expectations given to you throughout this year.
